What it is

An Armstrong-type ceiling has three parts: a metal grid of T-tees, hangers that hold it at the set height, and 600×600 mm infill modules; GARM supplies metal cassettes as infill.

Any module lifts out by hand, so services stay accessible and a damaged module is replaced in a minute.

GARM supplies Standard T24, Premium T24 and Premium T15 grids and recommends 600×600 metal cassettes as infill: moisture-proof, washable, no sagging.

Price — from AMD 5,000 per m².

Installation

Armstrong-type ceiling installation diagram
T24 grid: hangers at max 1200 mm
  1. Prepare the ceiling void: fix all services so that nothing rests on the suspended ceiling grid.
  2. Draw a room plan and a ceiling layout before installation so that the ceiling is symmetrical to the walls and the cut modules at the edges are equal.
  3. Mark a level line around the perimeter (height as per design) and fix the wall angle at max 350 mm centres. The angle level sets the ceiling height. Mitre the angle at 45° in corners; on straight runs butt-joint it and fix each end. Cut with metal snips. Also fix the angle to columns and other elements the ceiling abuts.
  4. Hang main tees at 1200 mm centres, first hanger max 300 mm from the wall; join with locks, add a hanger max 150 mm from joints.
  5. Level the grid, fit 1.2 m then 0.6 m cross tees.
  6. Lay cassettes from the centre of the room, leaving openings for lights and grilles.
ImportantLight fittings, sensors, AC cassettes and any other equipment visible on the ceiling face must hang from their own hangers. Never load the grid or fix to ducts and other services.
